Bamendankwe Diaspora To Champion Development Of Their Village

Sons and daughters of Bamendankwe village in the Bamenda I Sub Division, Northwest region of Cameroon recently celebrated the life of Fon Forchesiri the II, who joined his ancestors many years ago in what is known as "Neukwe"

The event was an opportunity for them both home and abroad to reflects on the socioeconomic development of their community.

Talking to Thegatekeeper20,Thomas Ambang Tanue, a businessman based in the USA who was part of the celebrations said

Thomas Ambang Tanue talking to the press.

"We are working with the Fon to use modern technologies such as the social media to address all our brothers and sisters around the world. We will award scholarships, provide drinking water and a liberary to help educate our children."

The idea of the diapora to come in and develop their community was bought by Fon Forchesiri III of Bamendakwe village,

"we understand the role the diaspora can play in the development of our community and that explains why we have invited them so that we can work together as one for the sake of our village." Fon Forchesirri III explained.

Worthy of note is the fact that, the Fon's palace now has a new facelift thanks to the diaspora.

Many are of the opinion that if the people of Bamendankwe village both in and out of the country come together as one, the development of the village will be unstoppable.
